Ashlie Johnson (née Cox) is an experienced medicolegal consultant specialising in the coordination and delivery of forensic and medical expert witness services to the criminal justice and coronial systems.

She spent six years at the National Crime Agency’s Forensic Medical Advice Team (formerly National Injuries Database), where she was the tactical lead for large-scale and sensitive criminal investigations, including public inquiries, involving multiple deaths and serious harm within a healthcare setting. Her meticulous approach to case management and understanding of both legal and forensic contexts made her a trusted adviser in multi-agency operations. Additionally, Ashlie specialised in criminal investigations into homicide, non-accidental injury and neglect to children, and provided national police training to SIO’s and investigators on these topics. During her tenure at the NCA, Ashlie received multiple formal commendations recognising her contribution to successful prosecutions and national forensic medical strategy, including a Director of Investigations Commendation Award.

Following her work with the NCA, she joined McCollum Consultants, where she went on to establish and lead the criminal and coronial division, further refining her expertise in coordinating expert evidence within legal frameworks.

Ashlie holds a First-Class Honours degree in Forensic Science from Northumbria University.
